Farnesiana

Farnesiana by Caron is a Floral fragrance for women. Farnesiana was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Michel Morsetti. Top notes are Mimosa and Bergamot; middle notes are Iris and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Ylang-Ylang and Vanilla. Maison Caron, founded in 1904 by Ernest Daltroff, reissues all its emblematic perfumes (formerly available in the Fontaines collection) in the new line La Collection Privée, coming out in 2018 in an art-deco bottles. "In the early 40s, Michel Morsetti took over as perfumer. Keen to remain loyal to the House’s founder, he immersed himself in reading the precious notebooks that had been left to him. The resulting fragrance was Farnesiana, created in 1947 as a unique interpretation of mimosa. To recreate its duvet-like qualities, he used sweet acacia, a lesser-known variety of mimosa with astonishingly modern accents, which brings an almost gustatory sweetness to the fragrance. The Latin name acaciosa farnesiana also provided the inspiration for its name. It is reminiscent of Rome’s Palazzo Farnese and the art of gentle and refined Mediterranean living."
